{"id":3215,"date":"2017-11-03T18:48:01","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T21:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corredorbioceanico.org\/?post_type=actividad&#038;p=3215"},"modified":"2025-01-13T13:12:34","modified_gmt":"2025-01-13T16:12:34","slug":"v-reunion-grupo-de-trabajo-de-antofagasta-2017","status":"publish","type":"actividad","link":"https:\/\/corredorbioceanico.org\/en\/actividad\/v-reunion-grupo-de-trabajo-de-antofagasta-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"V Working Group Meeting of Antofagasta &#8211; 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Event:<\/strong> V Meeting of the Working Group of the Bioceanic Road Corridor Puerto Murtinho &#8211; Ports of Northern Chile<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Antofagasta, Chile<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> November 3, 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity Objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To evaluate the progress achieved since the Joint Declaration of Asunci\u00f3n and to formulate recommendations to address the remaining challenges, initiating a new cycle of implementation with an integrated and multisectoral approach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The meeting was presided over by the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Mr. Edgardo Riveros, and attended by delegations from Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, led by their respective high-level representatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Agenda<\/strong> <strong>Report on the seminar &#8220;Bioceanic Road Corridor Puerto Murtinho &#8211; Ports of Northern Chile&#8221;:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highlighted the participation of authorities, public and private sector experts, and academics. <strong>Topics covered:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Infrastructure and Logistics Platform of the Corridor.<\/li>\n<li>Trade facilitation, regulation, and value chains.<\/li>\n<li>University Network and support from academic centers. Identified road and physical infrastructure projects and highlighted the need to advance in a coordinated manner in all areas, particularly in border control services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Report and evaluation of the progress in the implementation of the Bioceanic Road Corridor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bidding process and infrastructure works in the Chaco area and the international bridge Puerto Murtinho &#8211; Carmelo Peralta (Paraguay):\n<ul>\n<li>Agreement with Brazil for the construction of the bridge, pending parliamentary approval.<\/li>\n<li>Paving of the route between Carmelo Peralta and Loma Plata in the bidding process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Situation of the Jama Pass, Sico and road works linked to the corridor (Argentina):\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment of more than US$1.1 million for the construction of facilities at the Jama Pass.<\/li>\n<li>Repaving and transformation of Route 34.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Results of the Campo Grande &#8211; Antofagasta Caravan (Brazil):\n<ul>\n<li>A video of the journey was shown, highlighting infrastructure advances and the positive impact on communities along the route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conclusions and Agreements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Creation of a Business Network:<\/strong> To strengthen public-private linkage and association.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proposal of Program and Future Action Guidelines:<\/strong> Adopted with observations reflected in the attached document.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project of Joint Declaration of Presidents:<\/strong> To promote the development of the second implementation cycle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preparation of a Joint Presidential Declaration:<\/strong> To be presented at the Mercosur Summit of Heads of State in December.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emphasis on the fluidity of border control services:<\/strong> As a key factor for the operationality and sustainability of the corridor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Event: V Meeting of the Working Group of the Bioceanic Road Corridor Puerto Murtinho &#8211;
