{"id":3766,"date":"2025-08-06T12:36:39","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T15:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corredorbioceanico.org\/?page_id=3766"},"modified":"2025-10-21T13:23:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T16:23:15","slug":"facilitacion-de-comercio-y-procesos-transfronterizos","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/corredorbioceanico.org\/en\/facilitacion-de-comercio-y-procesos-transfronterizos\/","title":{"rendered":"Trade Facilitation and Cross-Border Processes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<h3><strong>What are we doing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To develop the dimension on Trade Facilitation and Cross-Border Processes, <strong>a study was commissioned that includes a regional diagnosis and an action plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Its objective was to identify the <strong>main challenges for the movement of goods, people, and vehicles across the corridor\u2019s border crossings and to propose concrete solutions<\/strong> that improve logistical efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and strengthen regional integration.<\/p>\n<p>The study was carried out by the <strong>Procomex Alliance<\/strong>, under the leadership of the Executive Commission of the Forum of Subnational Territories. Technical coordination and funding were provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How was the study conducted?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The study was conducted in two phases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Diagnosis.<\/strong>\u00a0To identify improvement opportunities with exclusive participation of the private sector from the four countries through virtual meetings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action Plan.<\/strong> To reach consensus on solutions and actions between public officials involved in cross-border processes and the private sector through in-person meetings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In total, 19 virtual meetings and 10 in-person meetings were held,<\/strong> with the participation of 469 private sector representatives (including 282 companies and 43 business associations), and 161 representatives from 65 public agencies and educational institutions from the 4 CBC countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>What results were obtained?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>231 improvement opportunities<\/strong> organized by root cause: systems, infrastructure, regulations, procedures, human resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>264 agreed-upon actions<\/strong> classified into three levels: multilateral, binational, and national.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>What are the key conclusions?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The analysis confirms that the competitiveness of the CBC does not depend solely on new infrastructure, but also on the implementation of a<strong> Coordinated Border Management<\/strong> model.
