CAMPO GRANDE (BRAZIL) – Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and held by the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul, along with the State Government, the International Parliamentary Front of the Bioceanic Corridor, and the Association of Municipalities of Mato Grosso do Sul (Assomasul), the First Integration Forum of the Municipalities of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor was held on May 26 and 27.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the agreements signed during the inauguration of the First Forum, integration between Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile will go beyond physical road connection works, generating diplomatic agreements that will facilitate economic and tourism development in all cities traversed by the Corridor.<\/p>\n
The agreements establish, for example, the exchange of information on production, results of technical studies, a permanent meeting between country authorities, cooperation in projects, execution and follow-up plans, interest in studies for the utilization of railway tourism, and aim to establish commercial contacts and multilateral financing, among others.<\/p>\n
Presided over by Governor Reinaldo Azambuja of Mato Grosso do Sul, the event featured the participation of authorities from the South American countries involved in the Corridor, who reaffirmed that the Forum is projected as a milestone in concrete integration, with the convergence of legitimate interests of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay.<\/p>\n
Signed Agreements:<\/p>\n
At the inauguration of the First Forum, one of the highlights was the signing of the agreements on \u201cCommercial, Economic, and Productive Cooperation between Municipalities of Northern Chile, Northern Argentina, Paraguayan Chaco, and Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil,\u201d and \u201cInstitutional Cooperation for the Constitution of a Tourism Promotion Committee between Municipalities of Northern Chile, Northern Argentina, Paraguayan Chaco, and Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.\u201d<\/p>\n
Finally, it was also highlighted that the construction of the Bioceanic Corridor will necessitate the opening of new border posts in Brazil and Paraguay, connect the State of Mato Grosso do Sul with the Paraguayan Chaco, and facilitate road access to northern Argentina and Chile, fostering regional tourism and promoting greater cultural and academic exchange.<\/p>\n
