To develop the Physical and Digital Infrastructure dimension with a Value Chain–oriented approach, a study was commissioned that includes a regional diagnostic and an action plan for the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor (CBC).
Its objective was to analyze the state of transport infrastructure, logistics, and digital connectivity along the corridor, identify the main gaps affecting the productive development of the territories, and propose strategic projects to improve regional connectivity and strengthen value chains between Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay.
The study was prepared by SLOTT Consulting, in consortium with Spim, under the leadership of the Executive Commission of the Forum of Subnational Territories of the CBC. Technical coordination and financing were provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The study was developed through two main components:
The work included statistical analyses, interviews with public and private stakeholders, field visits to different sections of the corridor, and the presentation of progress at the CBC Forums held in 2025 in Campo Grande and Jujuy.
The study made it possible to:
The analysis confirms that the development of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor requires a progressive transition toward an integrated logistics corridor, combining improvements in physical infrastructure, process digitalization, and the strengthening of logistics services.
The study proposes a roadmap to first achieve a phase of operational integration—with continuous infrastructure, logistics nodes, and coordinated processes—and subsequently a phase of productive integration, aimed at enhancing regional value chains and territorial development.
