The initiative was presented at the UNJu with the participation of provincial and university authorities to define a common identity of tourism and culture.
Within the framework of the regional integration process between Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil, provincial authorities and the National University of Jujuy participated in the launch of the contest to define an identity and a slogan of the Bioceanic Corridor for the tourism and cultural sectors.
The meeting was held at the Rectorate of the National University of Jujuy (UNJu) and was attended by the rector Mario Bonillo; Alejandro Marenco, the Executive Secretary of the Provincial Agency of the Bioceanic Corridor of Capricorn; the Secretary of Culture of the Province, José Bárcena; and the Secretary of Tourism, Diego Valdecantos, among other provincial and university authorities.
The National University of Jujuy will accompany the development and the call for the contest, which seeks to gather proposals to build a representative identity of the corridor and strengthen its communication in the field of Tourism and Culture.
The bases and conditions will be disseminated soon, along with the requirements and mechanisms for participation. The call will be aimed at the academic and institutional community, which will be able to present their creative proposals.
The articulation between public organizations and the university is in addition to the actions that are being developed around regional integration and the tourist and cultural positioning of the corridor. Jujuy’s tourism and culture policies incorporate different actions of integration and regional promotion.
A proposal to strengthen regional integration
During the meeting, Valdecantos highlighted the importance of advancing in concrete actions based on the agreements reached in the different work instances of the Bioceanic Corridor.
“Being able to make this launch is important for everyone. It is fundamental because it has to do with specifying and carrying out one of the points of this Bioceanic Corridor. We had to look for a strategy, a slogan beyond words for what tourism and culture are specifically,” he said.
The proposal aims to generate a common communication and promotion tool for the four countries, specifically linked to their tourist attractions and cultural manifestations.
A selection with the participation of the four countries
According to what was reported during the meeting, the finalist proposals will be evaluated in an international instance scheduled for November, during the forum to be held in Chile.
“Starting today, the bases will come out and the best option will be chosen in the month of November, already in the forum in Chile, where the evaluation table will be made up of the four countries and in this way the best slogan will be chosen,” Valdecantos explained.
The instance will allow incorporating a regional perspective into the selection process and moving towards a shared identity for the tourism and cultural promotion of the Bioceanic Corridor.
The contest thus constitutes a new action within the integration process between Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil, with the participation of provincial and university institutions in the construction of common tools for regional development and promotion.
