As a background to this website, a previous version was launched online in March 2018 and discontinued in June 2021, thanks to an agreement signed for this purpose between the Regional Government of Antofagasta and the Universidad Católica del Norte (Chile).
The current Web Platform – under construction, just like the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor it serves – is being implemented in fulfillment of one of the objectives of the Regional Master Plan for Integration and Development of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor (PM-CBC).
The Plan is managed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through its financial instrument, the Regional Public Good (RPG).
The Master Plan, at the request of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor Integration Forum, is mandated to develop the communication strategy for the CBC, and from this generate the content to be included on this website and other dissemination pieces.
