3rd Segurança Rodoviária Central-West Forum highlights road safety as a strategic axis for the development of the Bioceanic Route

Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil – May 2026

Government representatives, transport specialists, security agencies, companies in the logistics sector and authorities from different South American countries participated in the 3rd Central-West Forum of Segurança Rodoviária – Rota Biceânica, held on May 25 and 26 in the city of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul.

The meeting was consolidated as one of the main spaces for regional dialogue on infrastructure, logistics, mobility and road safety linked to the development of the Latin American Integration Route (RILA), known internationally as the Bioceanic Corridor, an initiative that seeks to strengthen connectivity between the Atlantic and the Pacific through Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.

During the working days, authorities, specialists and representatives of the private sector analyzed the challenges and opportunities posed by the consolidation of this strategic corridor for South American integration, with special emphasis on road safety, cross-border coordination, technological innovation applied to transport and the improvement of regional logistics competitiveness.

The program included technical panels, presentations of technological solutions, debates on integrated control, regulatory harmonization, digital transformation, intelligent monitoring of loads and cooperation between agencies responsible for road management and international transport.

One of the main issues addressed was the need to advance in a coordinated regional vision that allows accompanying the growth of the flow of goods and people that the consolidation of the Bioceanic Route will generate. In this sense, the participants agreed that road safety should be considered a fundamental component to guarantee the operational efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of the corridor.

Likewise, the strategic role of Mato Grosso do Sul and the city of Campo Grande within the process of South American physical integration was highlighted, especially in the context of infrastructure advances that will strengthen the connection between the territories involved in the corridor.

Among the most relevant presentations were analyses on the economic potential of the Bioceanic Route, logistics competitiveness studies, proposals for the integration of border control systems and experiences related to the use of new technologies for accident prevention and efficient management of cargo transport.

The forum was attended by representatives from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia and Peru, strengthening the international character of the meeting and reaffirming the importance of regional cooperation to face the challenges associated with the growth of trade and logistics flows in South America.

The realization of the 3rd Central-West Forum of Segurança Rodoviária reaffirms the need to continue promoting spaces of articulation between governments, technical organizations, security forces, private sector and academia, with the aim of building a safer, more efficient, sustainable and integrated Bioceanic Route for the territories and communities that are part of this important regional development corridor.
