San Pedro de Atacama will host the Pre-Forum of the Security and Citizen Participation Commissions with a focus on gender and Indigenous Peoples

The commune will host on August 6, 2026 the meeting of the Security and Citizen Participation Commissions, with a Gender and Indigenous Peoples Approach, of the Forum of Subnational Territories of the CBC, within the framework of the pro tempore presidency exercised by the Regional Government of Antofagasta.
The commune of San Pedro de Atacama will host the Pre-Forum of the Subnational Territories of the Bioceanic Corridor of Capricorn (CBC), dedicated to the Commissions of Security and Citizen Participation, with a Focus on Gender and Indigenous Peoples. The central day will be held on August 6, 2026, within the framework of a program that takes place between August 5 and 7, and will bring together authorities and delegations from the subnational territories of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay that make up the corridor.
The activity is carried out within the framework of the pro tempore presidency of the Forum of the Subnational Territories of the Bioceanic Corridor of Capricorn, exercised by the Regional Government of Antofagasta, and is organized together with the Regional Council (CORE) of Antofagasta and the Municipality of San Pedro de Atacama.
During the meeting, the commissions will hold their working sessions aimed at consolidating agreements, identifying gaps and defining lines of work in terms of security and citizen participation with a focus on gender and indigenous peoples. The meeting is part of the technical work instances that support the process of integration of the corridor and that periodically bring together the subnational governments that make it up.
